BetMGM and Borgata Online Introduce Evolutionâs Dual Play Baccarat in the US
BetMGM and Borgata Online Casino now offer Evolutionâs Dual Play Baccarat to online casino players in New Jersey. Dual Play technology connects land-based and online play by allowing online players to participate in games alongside players at a physical table.
Thanks to multiple cameras around the casino table, Dual Play Baccarat offers unlimited online players a fully immersive real-time baccarat experience.
In the announcement, Oliver Bartlett, BetMGMâs VP of gaming product and content, said the dual-play offering enhances online playersâ gaming experience.
Dual Play Baccarat is one of the best ways to bring the excitement of live table games to our online casino players. Similar to the familiar slot titles like Buffalo and Wheel of Fortune at BetMGM, we look for ways to build connections to on-property play and games that resonate with players.
Launch follows 2023 introduction of Dual Play Roulette
The partnership between BetMGM, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, and Evolution marks the first time Dual Play Baccarat is available to players in a regulated US market.
James Bruno, Borgataâs vice president of casino operations, said the innovative addition to Borgataâs retail and online catalog seamlessly delivers an omnichannel experience.
Borgata has long been a leader in gaming innovation, and the launch of Dual Play Baccarat further elevates that reputation. This dynamic addition bridges the energy of our casino floor with the convenience of online play, offering players an immersive and seamless way to engage with one of their favorite games.
The launch of Dual Play Baccarat in New Jersey affirms BetMGMâs status as an omnichannel leader. It follows the August 2023 introduction of Evolutionâs Dual Play Roulette at Borgataâs Atlantic City property and online via BetMGM and Borgata Online Casino.
Roulette was the first Evolution Dual Play game at a North American MGM Resorts International property, but BetMGM wasnât the first experiment with the technology.
Five years earlier, in 2018, Hard Rock and Resorts Casino were the first New Jersey operators to launch Evolutionâs Dual Play Roulette. However, in the intervening years, Hard Rock removed the offering, opting for traditional live dealer roulette. Resorts still offers Dual Play Roulette, but itâs an auto-roulette version. Although the game still serves online and retail players simultaneously, it involves a fully automated mechanical table without a human dealer.
Dual Play Baccarat a âfirst of its kindâ in the US
According to the release, Dual Play Roulette has been one of Borgataâs most popular tables and has “delivered impressive numbers” online since its debut. So, it stands to reason the partners expect the same reception for the new game.
In his statement, Jacob Claesson, Evolution North Americaâs CEO, said Dual Play Baccarat is a first-of-its-kind game for the US.
Evolution Dual Play Baccarat is an innovative product that brings together land-based players and an unlimited number of online players at the same casino table. This game is the first of its kind in the United States, and weâre very excited for BetMGM to be leading the way with this type of omnichannel initiative. Dual Play Baccarat follows the launch of Dual Play Roulette that opened in 2023 at Borgata, which quickly became a very popular way to play roulette. Weâre incredibly proud of our partnership with BetMGM and fully committed to supporting them as they continue to innovate and build truly engaging player experiences.
Bonus contacted BetMGM to ask about future launches of the dual-play tech in other jurisdictions but did not receive an immediate response.
MGM Grand Detroit would make Michigan a logical target. However, BetMGM has yet to launch Dual Play Roulette in the Great Lake State, which makes a baccarat launch less likely.
Another possibility could be Ontario, but BetMGMâs Canada-facing live-dealer games currently stream from international studios. So, if BetMGM takes dual-play across the border, players could find themselves at a table hosted by an Eastern Europeanâor similarly distancedâcasino.
UPDATE 02/20/2025:
A BetMGM spokesperson responded Wednesday night to confirm that while Dual Play Baccarat is only planned for New Jersey, that could change in the future.
Currently, our only plans for Dual Play Baccarat are in New Jersey due to our connection with Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. However, we remain open to future possibilities of bringing the game to states like Michigan.
